Description
Building a church is the same as constructing a building; the only difference is that the building is spiritual.
This means that each local pastor is like a civil engineer who constructs a building.
He has to lay down the foundations first and then he makes the pillars and the beams. It is the pillars that carry the load of the building; they are the elements which receive part of the ‘load’ (for example, of a room) and transport this load to even stronger pillars. In the spiritual building, ‘the pillars’ could be the pastors and co-pastors of a local church; and the elders and deacons could be the beams for example.
After the ‘pillars’ and ‘beams’ are done, then the walls, doors, windows, etc are placed… The walls are made out of ‘brick.’ In the spiritual building,” the bricks” could be the brothers of the local church; In I Peter 2:5 the Bible says: “…you are living stones…”
